Ways #ToBeRecruited: Have a “motor” that never stops. College coaches recruit talented players who can “go” every possession!
PLAYERS: Don’t beat yourself up about the last play. Stay mentally strong, acknowledge what happened, and dominate the next possession.
PLAYERS: Average players perform vs. average/poor opponents, good players show up in big games, GREAT players dominate everyday regardless.
PLAYERS: The offseason is all about growing yourself. However, once practice starts, it’s all about growing others. #Leadership
PLAYERS: Your first impression of the “new you” (the 2016-17 you) starts on day one of school. What you did this summer will shine through.
PLAYERS: With school in full swing have you?: 1) Stayed on top of your academics 2) Worked on your game each day 3) Lifted consistently
PLAYERS: You can’t expect a scholarship w/o putting in extra work. Coaches won’t throw $$$ at kids who are just “interested” in being good.
PLAYERS: How much value do you bring to your team if you are not scoring the basketball? What can you do when the ball isn’t in your hands?
PLAYERS: Bring enthusiasm to EVERY workout, weight session, and practice. It is contagious, and proves your buy-in to the program’s vision.
PLAYERS: There is air in the ball! Dribble w/ a purpose, such as: 1) Attacking the rim 2) Increasing passing angles 3) Escaping trouble
