You can be a good player by liking the game. If you want to be the best, you have to love it. If you don’t-that’s ok, but live w/the results
PLAYERS: Does your relationship with your coach and your attitude towards your team depend upon the amount of playing time you’re getting?
COACHES: Why post game results, even after loses? To take responsibility for the result, to embrace it, to learn from it.
PLAYERS: You only have to do a few things great so long as you don’t do too many things wrong. Coaches play low risk players who are tough.
PLAYERS: When you get taken out of the game does your body language & attitude ENCOURAGE or DISCOURAGE your coach to put you back in?
PLAYERS: Do you value film and on floor scout sessions? Your coaching staff put in hours of work to help prepare the team. Be focused!
PLAYERS: Starter? Backup? Not playing?..If you’re not playing the role you want perhaps you didn’t put in the right kind of work last summer
PLAYERS: How many times do you go into a gym by yourself to work on your game and countdown 3-2-1 and shoot a “game-winning shot?”
