Final Camp of 2011 at Prior Lake High School a Great Success!

Midwest Elite Basketball brought a staff of four college coaches and one college player to Prior Lake High School (MN) to conduct their 94th and final camp of the 2011 summer. Working the camp were coaches from Morningside College, Central Wyoming College, Bemidji State University and University of Minnesota-Morris. Like every camp the #1 focus was to improve the skill-set of the athletes who attended, however, this camp was also unique in the fact that a camera crew was present to shoot a promotional commercial for MEB.

Midwest Elite Basketball Co-Owner Craig Doty thought the 1-day camp was an incredible success.

“What a great group of guys to work with. Coach Focke does an outstanding job with his guys at Prior Lake. Out of the 94 camps we conducted this summer this camp was easily in the top 10 for overall talent and ability. The athletes were receptive, enthusiastic and got the most out of the camp. Sometimes athletes tense up when a camera crew is present; these guys were as comfortable as Al Pacino or Owen Wilson on set.”

Midwest Elite Basketball hired Token Media, a Minneapolis-based production company, to shoot the camp. The footage will be edited and put together to produce MEB’s first promotional video for their Satellite Camps. The video, which will be just under 90 seconds, can be viewed on the homepage of MEB’s newly launched website.

“This is an exciting time for our organization,” Doty said. “We have grown at an outstanding, but controlled, rate over the past 6 years. The launching of our new website through TST Media and the production of our first promotional video will help us reach out to even more high school programs around the 12-state Midwest Region. We truly feel we conduct the best camps in the country, now we want to be the leader in camp marketing and innovation.”

Founded by Doty and Brad Schmit in 2006, Midwest Elite Basketball has a staff of over 45 college coaches. MEB conducts “Satellite Camps” throughout the Midwest. Providing the best in off-season player development, MEB’s major market includes small schools with an enrollment under 400 students. At the same time, Midwest Elite Basketball has worked with big programs in Chicago (Curie High School), Omaha (Skutt High School) Metro-Minneapolis (Prior Lake High School) among others. There is no school too big or too small for an MEB Satellite Camp. Contact MEB at midwest-elite-basketball@hotmail.com or 712-212-1144 to schedule a camp for the summer of 2012.

“Our staff of enthusiastic college coaches will conduct a maximum of 120 camps in 2012. Dates fill up incredibly fast so high school coaches should contact us early,” Doty said.
