MEB Camps Conclude In CO, TN & OK; Convention Kicks Off Camps In NE

LAST WEEK:

Satellite camps in CO, TN & OK finished successfully and fueled excitement for what is to come in this 2013 camp season. The coaches running the camps felt confident they made an impact during their time in the gym.

Brad Schmit, Co-Owner of MEB and Asistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Montana State University Billings said, “Working in areas of the country that we have not been in before has been a great experience for the programs we have been fortuante to work with and the staffs involved with the camps. All of the high school coaches have been thrilled with the team and individual development that their programs recieved from the MEB instructors!”

After three days at Chuckey-Doak HS in TN, Coach Evan Lavery said, “The players worked with consistent effort and attention to detail!” and Coach Scott Suchy said, “The kids were working hard to improve on all aspects of the game.”

While running the camp in Chandler, OK, Coach Tesdahl took a few minutes to interview three girls from the basketball program. Their testimonies reflect the success MEB had on their program.

“I think it’s really cool. I’ve learned a lot and they (MEB) have made everything fun.”

“It was really fun and we learned a lot of defense and offense we can use to improve our skills.”

“I think this was the best camp I’ve ever been too. I’ve learned a lot and I recommend this camp.”

THIS WEEK:

30 MEB college coaches arrived in Omaha, Nebraska for a convention to kick off a week of camps in NE. The convention is to foster networking amongst the coaches that are a part of Team MEB and to discuss drills, advanced concepts and visions that will better the future of MEB. Thursday from 7:30 – 11:30 MEB will gather to give out a “Coach of the Year” award from the past 2012 camp season. This convention is a great opportunity for our Team MEB to become closer and to work towards similar goals.

Camps are in session and MEB is doing big things in NE this week. Camps are running in Atkinson, Murray, Omaha Central, Pierce, Columbus, Elgin, and will finish off in Bird City, KS for a 3-day camp with the boys basketball program.

Atkinson, NE – This is the 3rd consecutive year MEB has come to work with the boys basketball program at the West Holt High School. Bryce Tesdahl, Assistant Coach at the University of Minnesota Duluth, is directing this camp along with three instructors. Instructor Louie Krogman is the all-time leading scorer in NCAA D1 University of South Dakota history and all-time leading scorer in South Dakota high school basketball history. Also on board is Josh Vaughan from the University of Minnesota-Moorhead and Joel Lincoln of Northwest Missouri State University.

Columbus, NE – MEB will be working with Columbus High School girls program May 30 and 31. Over 30 campers are projected to attend between 8th and 12 grade. Six of our MEB staff will be running this camp including Columbus High School alum, Elijah Starzl, current coach at University of Minnesota-Morris. Evan Lavery, coach at Rock Valley College, IL; Matt Fletcher (former Assistant at SW Minnesota State; Josh Vaughan, coach at University of Minnesota-Moorhead; Brittany Imig, coach at Missouri Baptist University and Ben Pallardy, coach at Central Methodist University, MO will all be instructors in Columbus.
