History with Midwest Elite Basketball

The CMU Lady Eagle staff has been a major part of the the Midwest Elite Basketball staff for the past 8 summers. Using the off-season to develop their coaching abilities, network with other college coaches and enhance their recruiting connections, are all areas the staff feels MEB provides them during the summer months.

On staff right now for CMU are two current TeamMEB coaches. Head assistant, Greg Ray, has been directing camps for the past 5 summers.  Graduate assistant, Camden Levett, will be entering his second summer in 2017.

Comments on the 2016-2017 Season from assistant coaches, Greg Ray and Camden Levett

“You know our program is pretty special here in Fayette, Missouri. If you check out our roster you can see that we have student athletes from all over the world. A good mix of returners and transfers. Everyone came in knowing our goal is to play March 21st in Billings, Montana for the NAIA Division 1 National Championship.

Our team is currently 14-2 and ranked #16 in the latest NAIA National Poll. Riding an 8 game winning streak, we’re fighting human nature of being happy and settling in a bit. In our conference there are no off days! Our girls understand the hard work it takes each practice to be successful on game days. Our girls go above and beyond and come in and work on their game. We have an open door policy in our program, if you want to come in and shoot, the doors will be open! Coach Ray and myself live nearby and frequently receive texts to unlock the doors. We never turn down an athlete from coming in on their own time to work!

Our Conference is very competitive and we look forward to the different challenges each team brings. Right now, our staff and players are enjoying coming in and working extremely hard and taking it one day at a time.”
